The Juvae Jazz Society is hosting its 40th Annual Jazz Festival this month at the Decatur Conference Center & Hotel. For music lovers young and old, it's an enticing event that brings some of the best national jazz assembles and local jazz musicians together under one roof for three days and two nights of improvisational, swing, hot, cool, bebop and classic jazz!
From Friday, Jan. 30 through Sunday, Feb. 1, 2015, the Juvae Jazz Festival will offer music, food (brunch and dinner shows), dancing and all-around fun to central Illinois. The festival kicks off with a "Get Acquainted Party" on Friday, followed by other festivities like a Saturday Ragtime Pianorama, small combo dance sets, New Orleans Style Umbrella Parade, and other must-attend parties with performances from bands and artists that you won't want to miss.
Over the course of the three-day event, acts like Wally's Warehouse Waifs from Michigan, Bill Allred's Classic Jazz Band from Florida and the Red Skunk Jipzee Swing Band from California/New Orleans will heat up the Conference Center, along with local guest acts like Danny Coots, Eddie Erickson and others.
Tickets start as low as $35 per session, though true jazz enthusiasts may want to purchase the Patron Package for $165, which includes a pass to nearly all shows, including those served with meals. The Patron Package also comes with special reserved seating, a souvenir badge and other perks.
