From August 4-6, the 30th annual Decatur Celebration will return to our city and we are very excited about this fun-filled event!
As always, it will have something for everyone. There will be a carnival packed with several heart-pounding rides, tractor pulls and motorcycle races. In addition, the event will play host to various contests and competitions for your viewing pleasure: Miss Illinois Festival Pageant, Adorable Baby Contest and Heinkel’s Hot Dog Eating Competition.
Visitors will be able to stroll through three blocks of art thanks to the various artists and crafters who will be on-hand displaying their masterpieces. You’ll also get to enjoy your favorite spirits at the wine garden. Come hungry too because there will be more than 70 delicious food items for you to choose from.
This is not just another festival either. It helps raise money for a variety of local causes. According to Decatur Celebration’s website, “Each year, the event generates over $100,000 for a number of local service organizations, provides opportunities for volunteerism, and means millions to the local business community.
