What's New for the 2018 Toyota Tacoma?

More significant changes are found in the 2018 Toyota Tacoma's safety features. In this safety package, you will have access to radar cruise control, an alert system for lane departure, pedestrian crossing notification, automatic high beams, a sway warning system and a pre-collision alert system. Trims & Features

With 30 configurations available for trim and engine combinations, you have ample ability to purchase the Tacoma that is right for your needs and budget. These configurations are based off of six primary trim choices. These options are the SR as the base trim option, the SR5 and the TRD Off-Road. The higher-level trim options are the TRD Sport Tacoma, the Limited Tacoma and the TRD Pro Tacoma. In addition to engine variations in these trim options, you can also choose between a double cab and an access cab with most of the trims. Toyota has thoughtfully-equipped all of the Tacoma trim options with some of the same standard features. The features that are available in all 2018 trims are dual illuminated vanity mirrors, one-touch power windows, power door locks with a remote keyless feature, heated side mirrors with turn signals included, keyless ignition, power steering with a leather-wrapped steering wheel, controls for the adaptive cruise control and audio on the steering wheel and others. There are numerous optional equipment selections available as well.

If you opt for a four-cylinder Tacoma, you will benefit from 159 horsepower and 180 foot-pounds of torque. On the other hand, the six-cylinder engine delivers 278 horsepower with 265 foot-pounds of torque. Your selection of engines is paired with traction control functionality, stability control, a front independent suspension, rear and front stabilization bars, four-wheel drive and a six-speed auto transmission.

NHTSA gave the 2018 Tacoma four stars out of five possible stars for the overall safety category. IIHS gave this truck the highest score for each of its five safety categories.
