What's New For the 2021 Toyota Prius?
When you think of hybrid vehicles on the road, the Toyota Prius instantly comes to mind. The Toyota Prius is one of the most popular hybrid cars on the market, and for a good reason. The Prius gets exceptional fuel economy, and it continually evolves to give consumers new and exciting features. The 2021 Toyota Prius follows that tradition by offering a special limited-edition trim. There are some updates to the Prius's safety technology this year too, and it also adds Android Auto compatibility. Along with its additional creature comforts, the Toyota Prius demonstrates its handling capabilities in 2021 as well with the option of all-wheel drive for extra traction on slippery roads.
2021 Prius Trims and Features
The 2021 Toyota Prius lineup features five trim levels. The first trim, called the L Eco, gets 15-inch wheels and automatic LED lights. The interior is well-equipped with a keyless entry and keyless ignition system. Automatic climate control is standard. The base trim has a seven-inch infotainment display screen with support for Android Auto, Amazon Alexa, and Apple CarPlay. A wealth of advanced safety aids is included.
The LE has a few more features, including a rear window wiper and parking sensors in front and back. The LE also offers the added convenience of an automated parallel parking system that steers the car into a parking spot without the driver's assistance. Moving up to the XLE adds 17-inch wheels, rain-sensing wipers, simulated leather seats, and a wireless charging pad. The 2020 Edition, a new trim this year, adds 17-inch black wheels, black trim accents inside and out, and custom floor mats. Atop the Prius trims is the Limited, which gets a larger 11.6-inch infotainment system with navigation and a higher-end audio system.

2021 Toyota Prius Horsepower
The same engine powers all five Toyota Prius trims, although you have a choice of drivetrain. The 2021 Prius gets a hybrid powertrain that includes a 1.8L four-cylinder gasoline engine and an electric motor. Together, they produce up to 121 horsepower. The standard transmission on all Prius trims is a continuously variable transmission. All-wheel drive is offered on the LE and XLE models, while the others get front-wheel drive.
Toyota Prius Safety
Many safety features are standard in the Toyota Prius for 2021. All trims get full-speed adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, and road sign assist. Blind spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert and park assist is standard on all trim levels except the L Eco. Parking sensors are added to the LE.
