
Recently at TED 2015, Toyota held i-ROAD test drives and several journalists, tech gurus and celebrities took part, including Jason Winston George from “Grey’s Anatomy” and New Yorker writer Richard Socarides. The compact, tri-wheeled i-ROAD looks like tons of fun and TED test drive participants confirmed that this is indeed the case. Toyota’s future vision of personal mobility packs a big punch of excitement into a pint-sized cruiser that blurs the line between car and motorbike. It’s clearly ideal for urban commuting, with a space-saving size and zero-emissions source of power. Toyota says that once a driver gets used to it, the i-ROAD’s performance feels parallel to skiing.
The Toyota i-ROAD has been tested in cities across the world. It went through an October 2014 Verification Project in France and March 2014 Verification Project in Japan, where locals got to test out the vehicle on public roads. Many expressed excitement over its unique performance and how easy it was to learn how to drive. See the video below now to watch it in action.
