Saturday, Aug. 22, 2015 @ Friend’s Creek Conservation Area
Check out the constellations at our local conservation area’s Astronomy Jamboree. Along with getting to gaze up at the moon, stars and planets through awesome telescopes, you’ll also get to roast marshmallows and listen to storytelling. In addition, fun prizes are given out and you can register to create a craft. Learn more here.
Saturday, Aug. 29, 2015 @ Fletcher Park in Mt. Zion
Grease Fest 2015 is a big back-to-school bash featuring a showing of the iconic movie “Grease” on Fletcher Park’s huge outdoor screen. There will also be concessions served 1950s style, face painting, music and other fun activities. The event is only a $1 for kids and $2 for adults. If you attend, feel free to wear your leather jacket or poodle skirt to participate in the 50s theme.
Sunday, Aug. 30, 2015 @ James Millikin Homestead
Tour the James Millikin Homestead, one of our city’s most iconic homes. The historic Victorian mansion is open to the public on the last Sunday of every month (April through October) for only $2 per adult and $0.50 per child.
