The Big Obstacle takes on-foot racing to new extremes with added hurdles like tube tunnels, wall climbing and more. It’s not going to be your average walk/run 3K, but more of an endurance test for those who are up to the challenge and want to have a lot of fun!
With inflatable and military-inspired obstacles to overtake, this 3K will be a little rough-and-tumble, so only those 16 and older can participate. Residents in and around the Decatur area are invited to register in the race, which is scheduled to take place on Saturday, July 25, 2015, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sign up and you’ll get to compete for a chance to place as top male or female finisher - or simply a chance to give yourself a challenge!
The Big Obstacle is being put on by the Decatur Park District and United Way of Decatur. Proceeds from the event will benefit both organizations, assisting with funds for sports programs and local volunteer efforts in the areas of health, education, poverty, family violence, food, shelter and more.
The extreme 3K will take place at Fairview Park, which is located at 1455 West Fairview Park Drive Pavilion #1. If you’d like to join the race, click here to register.
