The 2016 Toyota Sienna has been named as one of the 10 best family cars of the year, as well as the winner in the Best Minivan category by Edmunds.com and Parent’s magazine. Safety, comfort and capacity, fuel efficiency, and interior and exterior design were just some of the categories that both publications looked at when ranking the Toyota Sienna.
The family-favorite Toyota minivan is offered in five grades: L, LE, SE, XLE and Limited. No matter which trim you choose, though, the Sienna comes well equipped with standard features like automatic headlights, cruise control, tri-zone automatic climate control, a height-adjustable driver seat and a tilt/telescope steering wheel.
On the entertainment front, the minivan comes with a 6.1-inch touchscreen display, CD player and a four-speaker sound system at no extra charge. Every 2016 Sienna now also gets Siri Eyes Free. There’s also the optional rear-seat entertainment unit, which has a split-screen monitor that allows a movie on one side and a video game on the other to play simultaneously.
Toyota makes safety a top priority in the brand-new Sienna. It comes standard with front-seat side airbags, full-length side curtain airbags, a driver-side knee airbag and a front passenger seat cushion airbag, as well as antilock brakes, and stability and traction control. A blind-spot monitor, rear cross-traffic alert, and front and rear parking sensors can also be had on select trims.
Underneath the hood, the Toyota Sienna comes with a brawny 3.5-liter V6 that generates 266 horsepower and 245 pound-feet of torque. Power is directed to the front wheels through a six-speed automatic. Sienna is also the only minivan to offer AWD.
