Toyota recently unveiled the all-new 2017 Highlander at the New York International Auto Show. And, with a new powerplant and enhanced styling, this sophisticated SUV is back and better than ever!
For starters, the SUV gets an updated Direct Shift 8-speed automatic transmission that is paired with a new 3.5-liter V6 Direct Injection Engine, for improved power and fuel efficiency. This drivetrain configuration will come standard on all V6 Highlander gas models.
In an effort to maximize fuel economy, V6 models (excluding LE) will get a new standard Stop and Start Engine System.
On the outside, the SUV is sure to turn heads, with its new upper and lower grille designs. From a sleek, silver-painted grille on LE, LE Plus and XLE trims to a chrome-painted finish on Limited and Platinum grades – the new Highlander offers a more refined and mature look than its predecessor.
Purchasers of the 2017 Toyota Highlander will also have three new exterior paints to choose from: Celestial Silver Metallic, Toasted Walnut Pearl, and, exclusively on the new SE grade, Salsa Red Pearl.
Top-tier luxury and amenity can be found on all Highlander trims, but for those who want all the bells and whistles that it can offer, the Limited and Limited Platinum models are the way to go.
Buyers who opt for these versions get the choice of second-row captain’s chairs (accommodates up to seven occupants), or second-row bench seats (offers room for up to eight people).
