Former late night TV host Jay Leno has always been quite the car guy and his video series, “Jay Leno’s Garage,” has been a platform for him to discuss his favorite hobby. On one of his latest episodes, he linked up with actor Tim Allen and the two faced off in a friendly drag race, with Leno pulling a few tricks out from under his sleeve.
Everyone knows Tim Allen is a car enthusiast so it was no surprise when he showed up on Leno’s series with a pristine Ford Fairline. According to Allen, the car was “stock” but in reality it was fitted with a 5.4L V8 that could blow most stock cars out of the water. Leno, not one to be outdone, brought his own secret weapon – a sleeper Toyota Camry – that packed its very own V8 engine.
What was supposed to be an honest race, quickly turned into a battle of power and deception. Leno flew past Allen in the 850-horsepower Camry completely dominating the Fairline.
The sleeper Camry Leno used in the race was the same one presented by Toyota during the 2017 SEMA show. To watch it go up against Allen’s Fairline, watch the video above.
