2018 Toyota Tundra Changes & Key Highlights

If full-size, big-fun capability is what you're looking for out of a truck, the Toyota Tundra should be on your list of options. Car and Driver's 2018 Toyota Tundra review points out the truck's "well-equipped lineup, cavernous crew cab, and capable off-road packages" as top highlights, but we think there's even more you'll appreciate about the pickup--especially with this year's changes.

When looking at the 2018 Toyota Tundra versus the 2017 Tundra, there are a few notable updates. The 2018 model gains standard Toyota Safety Sense-P (TSS-P) driver-assistance technologies, along with receiving a new TRD Sport Package and a revised frontal design on all trim grades. Continue out Tundra review below for more details.

Toyota Tundra Models & Top Features

You can find the new 2018 Toyota Tundra for sale in Decatur, Illinois with the following trim choices: Tundra SR, Tundra SR5, Tundra Limited, Tundra Platinum and Tundra 1794 Edition. Depending on the selected trim, you'll have a choice of a Double Cab or larger CrewMax body style, both of which include four doors. There's also a choice of a short 5.5-foot, standard 6.5-foot or long 8.1-foot bed, so you can really configure the truck for your needs. This year, there is no longer a regular cab option and the TRD Pro has been discontinued.

Standard amenities include an integrated backup camera, Toyota's Entune Audio system, Bluetooth hands-free phone, front and rear 12-volt auxiliary power outlets, LED daytime running lights, an easy lower and lift tailgate, front and rear mudguards, windshield wiper de-icer and more. Highlights on select upper trims include Entune with integrated navigation and App Suite, an auto-dimming rearview mirror with HomeLink universal transceiver and a rear under-seat storage compartment.

There are also several notable packages, including the all-new Toyota Tundra TRD Sport Package, which comes with equipment such as 20-inch silver-painted aluminum alloy wheels, a TRD bedside graphic, color-keyed bumpers, mirrors and hood scoop, a body-colored surround on the grille, LED lighting and more.

Toyota Tundra Horsepower, Torque & Tow Ratings

Tundra is fully V8-powered with a choice of two eight-cylinder engines. The first is a 4.6-liter V8 that generates 310 horsepower and 327 pound-feet of torque. The second option is a beefier 5.7-liter V8, which 2018 Toyota Tundra reviews commend for its ample 381 horsepower and 401 torque. Both engines are attached to a six-speed automatic transmission.

Tow ratings for the 2018 Toyota Tundra are also impressive. The pickup can trailer up to 10,200 pounds with standard tow hitch receivers.

Now there's even more reason to consider buying or leasing a 2018 Toyota Tundra in Decatur, Illinois. All grades, from the base to the topmost trim, are equipped with standard Toyota Safety Sense-P, a suite of technologies that includes the following: a Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection function, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Departure Alert and Automatic High Beams.

These radar- and camera-based systems augment the truck's many other safety features, which include airbags, Vehicle Stability Control with traction control and Automatic Limited-Slip Differential, Brake Assist and other components of the Toyota STAR Safety System.
