What's New For the 2019 Toyota Sequoia?

Toyota's motto for the 2019 Sequoia is "anything but ordinary," and even from the first glance of its exterior, you'll see why that's true. The 2019 Sequoia is a full-size SUV that has plenty of room for passengers and your belongings. The Sequoia comes in a choice of eight exterior colors for a custom look. There are four trim levels available to choose from, and each builds on its predecessors' amenities. Safety, which is one of the brand's hallmarks, is naturally a priority in the Sequoia, which has a variety of driver aids to help stop accidents before they happen. At any trim level, a powerful V8 engine will get you where you need to go, and the Sequoia's towing capacity ranks among the top of its class.

2019 Sequoia Trims & Features

In 2019 there are four trim levels of the Sequoia to choose from. In order, they are the SR5, the TRD Sport, the Limited, and the Platinum. The SR5 features ample space for up to eight passengers across three rows of seats. It has automatic LED headlights for improved visibility, which also give a distinct look to its exterior. Standard parking sensors on both the front and back of the Sequoia help with parking and navigation in any direction. The second row of seats folds down to make room for additional cargo as needed, and the seats can all slide independently. An infotainment system and generous standard safety features, including the Safety Sense package, rear cross-traffic alert, and blind-spot monitoring complete the base model's offerings.

Moving up to the TRD, you'll get a smoother, sportier ride with a sport-tuned suspension. With this minor change, the Sequoia feels even more rugged and off-road ready. Standard 20-inch black wheels give the TRD a unique appearance, and it has automatic on/off LED lights with multiple beam settings. On the inside, custom "TRD" accents throughout the cabin, including embroidered floor mats and a shift knob, give this trim level a distinct and memorable look.

Next up, the Limited tacks on leather seats for a more elegant interior appearance. The liftgate in the rear is power-operated for convenience, and the third row is more accessible. While the standard configuration is three rows that seat eight passengers, you can choose instead to get two captain's chairs in the second row to give up to seven passengers more room to spread out. With this trim level, you can opt for a premium sound system and an infotainment display with integrated navigation.

Finally, the fourth-level trim adds perforated heated and ventilated leather seats in the front row. A higher-quality sound system comes standard, and the infotainment system includes navigation. App connectivity is another highlight of this trim. In the back row, a second Blu-Ray entertainment system keeps everyone entertained.

2019 Toyota Sequoia Horsepower

2019 Toyota Sequoia Exterior FrontWhile the Sequoia might look family-friendly and luxurious on the inside, its engine shows that this SUV is also made for power and performance. The standard engine is a 5.7L, eight-cylinder engine that produces up to 381 HP and up to 401 LB-FT of torque. As you might expect from a Toyota SUV, the engine is also designed to reduce carbon emissions and maximize fuel economy without sacrificing power. An available 4WD system makes it easier to get off the beaten path and explore.
