Toyota has long been known for developing some of the safest cars on the market, and if you need any proof regarding this claim, just take a look at the brand’s collection of Top Safety Pick+ awards. A total of five 2017 Toyota models earned the coveted rating this year, which is given out by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

The Toyota Prius, Corolla, Camry, Prius v and RAV4 were the lucky models to earn the Top Safety Pick+ designation. Each model impressed the IIHS with their front crash prevention system, quality headlights and ability to receive a “Good” rating in all five crash tests.

“At Toyota, our focus remains on the safety and peace of mind of our customers,” said Dino Triantafyllos, Toyota’s North American Chief Quality Officer. “We are proud that our commitment to developing safe and reliable vehicles resulted in such a strong showing in 2017 TOP SAFETY PICK+ awards.”

Aside from the Top Safety Pick+ models, there were two Toyotas that received Top Safety Pick awards: the Yaris iA and Avalon. Overall, Toyota Manufacturing made out like a bandit, receiving more safety awards this year than any other automaker for the third year in a row.
