Ā Ā The 2025 espnW: Women + Sports Summit in Ojai, CA, was a standout occasion for women athletes and for Toyota. Toyota takes great pride in its Toyota Everyday Heroes program, and 2025 marked the 10th year of honoring these remarkable leaders. Girls and women were celebrated for their impact on the sports community and were awarded a generous $15,000 for their efforts.
The 10th Class of Toyota Everyday Heroes
Toyota ambassador Jess Sims attended the summit, presenting awards to the honorees during the espnW: Women + Sport Summitāan influential event now in its 13th year. Throughout the three-day gathering, Toyota highlighted the 2026 RAV4, the 2025 Toyota 4Runner, and, most importantly, the inspiring girls and women chosen as Toyota Everyday Heroes. The announcement left a lasting impression.
"Toyota is proud to honor Jessica Carter of HER Sports and Amberly Klam of Texas Fury as the 2025 Everyday Heroes for their outstanding work using sports to create opportunities and empowerment within their communities," said MJ Kroll, senior manager of media at Toyota Motor North America.
Jessica Carter, a former college basketball athlete from Virginia, founded HER Sports, a nonprofit dedicated to helping girls in her community gain the full benefits of athletic participation. For Jessica, itās all about ensuring equal access and opportunity. Her organization currently supports around 400 girls through four core programs.
Amberly Klam was also selected for the 2025 class of Everyday Heroes. She launched the Texas Fury flag football organization and actively encourages girls to join this growing sport. Inspired by her daughter Ashleaās enthusiasm for flag football, Klam aims to give more girls the chance to experience the game.
Toyota was delighted to once again take part in the espnW Women + Sport Summit and to showcase some of its latest vehicle advancements to attendees. The event proved meaningful for both the athletes and Toyota, and the company looks forward to continuing its involvement in espnW initiatives that empower people through sports.
