What's New For the 2020 RAV4

If the 2020 Toyota RAV4 follows in the footsteps of its predecessor, you can expect an award-winning vehicle on safety. That's likely a good thing because the new RAV4 is going to be much more adventurous than in years past. The Adventure and TRD Off-road trims are getting the most attention from media outlets eager to find out what an off-road RAV4 looks like. So far, the world has been mightily impressed by the upgraded tires, suspension systems, multi-terrain features, and 8.6" ground clearance of the Adventure. It looks like the RAV4 is gearing up for big adventures in 2020, and Toyota invites you to select one of its trims to join in the fun.

2020 RAV4 Trims & Features

Choose from the LE, XLE, Adventure, Limited, or TRD Off-road. The TRD off-road gets blacked-out 18" alloy tires that have a very squared up, distinct look. It's befitting a popular SUV going off-road for the first time. You're going to have a much easier time during camping trips and going out to explore places not entirely on the map.

You can choose from all-wheel-drive or front-wheel-drive depending on your needs. The base model LE already features some excellent convenience features, including seating for 5, 8-speed automatic transmission, interior colors like nutmeg or mocha, and WIFI connect for all your connectivity buffs out there. If you've got business to take care of, the RAV4 is going to get you there, whether you're heading out for a family road trip just for fun, or it's for a trip to work. The RAV4 is cozy, versatile, and, most of all, its distinct design turns heads in a good way.

What's Under the Hood of the 2020 RAV4?

For now, we see a single 203 horsepower engine choice. The powertrain is fitted with many amenities to increase efficiency and longevity, including Sequential sport shift, Transmission lock-up torque converter, and transmission oil cooler. You also have a mode select transmission. Overall, it's a powerful combination that will lend your RAV4 a dynamic driving experience that's fun to watch and be a part of.

2020 Toyota RAV4 Safety Features and Technology

Toyota RAV4 won the nation's highest safety award in 2019, so we're expecting no less than the best from the 2020 RAV4. We expect to see a return of the award-winning Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 system. There's also the possibility of a return of the Star Safety System™ and ToyotaCare, two truly beneficial features for safety.

While the official announcement of safety features isn't out yet, we're expecting a standard eight airbag system, electronic stability control, traction control, advanced safety features on the Adventure and TRD off-road that helps to harness all that off-road power, and features like automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection. Standard or optional, these are the features that save the lives of RAV4 drivers in the event of an adverse situation on the road. Since the RAV4 will be going off-road, expect Toyota to throw in more safety features than ever before.
