If you’re a fan of “Back to the Future Part II,” Toyota’s one-of-a-kind Tacoma Concept truck will definitely ring a bell. It’s the recreation of character Marty McFly’s “dream truck,” which was revealed on an iconic date: Oct. 21, 2015. That’s the day when, as told in the movie, McFly (Michael J. Fox) and his team travel to the future from the year 1985 to save his kids.
In celebration of the movie, Toyota put together multiple editions of this awesome concept and displayed them on Oct. 21 at locations in Dallas, New York and Los Angeles. As you may remember, McFly’s original dream truck was based on a 1985 Hilux and now Toyota has created versions using the all-new, completely redesigned 2016 Tacoma.
To make the concept resemble McFly’s original truck, Toyota gave the Tacoma the same black exterior paint color and mud flaps as the 1985 truck, along with updates like BFGoodrich tires, custom front and rear tubular bumpers, D-4S fuel injection badging, KC HiLite driving lamps and several other elements. Toyota also revised the Tacoma’s new front and rear light designs in order to make them look more similar to the dream truck in the film.
