What is Treehouse?
Treehouse serves as a specialized operating system designed to simplify the purchase and installation of Level 2 home charging systems. For Toyota and Lexus owners, it offers a comprehensive management experience covering everything from initial project scoping to permits and final setup. Unlike standard construction projects that often involve multiple contractor visits, Treehouse aims for a single visit to provide a quote and initiate the project upon approval. This turnkey management style removes the guesswork regarding on-site personnel during the installation. Toyota and Lexus owners can trust that Treehouse utilizes licensed electricians to evaluate electrical needs, perform necessary upgrades, and complete the installation to the highest safety standards.
Home Charging Options
Charging capabilities are determined by the specific model year of the Lexus or Toyota vehicle. For 2026, all new Toyota and Lexus hybrid and EV models include a standard 120V/240V AC charger for home use, supporting both Level 1 and Level 2 charging. These systems offer a maximum output of 7.7 kW, allowing for a nearly full charge overnight. Local regulations also play a role; for example, California and other states require dual-voltage cables for all BEVs. Toyota has integrated this technology into BEVs since 2024 and will expand it to PHEVs starting in 2026. This technology is now standard for all eligible vehicles across the country.
