ToyotaĀ Vehicle Service Warning Indicators
The service warning indicator lights that sometimes appear on your dashboard can help you identify potential problems and needs for repair. But how many people know what these warning lights indicate? Here at Crown Toyota, we want you to understand your vehicle's warning signals, so we've laid out ten common signs and what they mean.

Airbag Fault
When you see the airbag fault light, it generally means that your airbag has attempted to deploy but failed to do so. Sometimes this happens if you are in a small accident, like a fender bender. However, it may also indicate that there is a problem with the seatbelt signal.

Low Fuel Level Warning Light
The low fuel warning light comes on when your car is low on gas. When you see this light come on, as soon as you can, refuel your car.

Oil Pressure Warning Light
The oil pressure warning light will turn on to indicate low oil pressure. When this happens, you should check your oil levels. If they appear to be correct, but the light is still on, come into Crown Toyota so that we can help you solve the issue.

Service Vehicle Soon
The service vehicle light will turn on when your Toyota's maintenance schedule suggests routine servicing based on the mileage. There may be some models where, as a reminder for an oil change and tire rotation, the light will turn on every 5,000 miles. You can reset the light once you've completed the servicing.

TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System)
The TPMS light will turn on if your tires are low and require a pressure adjustment. The light should go off after the adjustment. Bring your car into Crown Toyota if the light doesn't turn off. It may be an indication that the pressure warning system is defective.

Slip Indicator
The slip indicator light will turn on if your tires are slipping. It will begin flashing when the Vehicle Stability Control and Traction Control are functioning correctly. There may be a problem with the system if the light does not turn off after you've regained traction.

Charging System Warning Light
The charging system light will appear on your dashboard to alert you of a possible issue with the battery or charging circuit. If this occurs while in motion, there might be an issue with the wiring. It could also indicate that your car's fan belt is broken. Bring your vehicle in for professional assistance when this occurs.

Brake System
The brake system light comes on when the anti-lock braking system is not working correctly. The brakes should not completely stop working, but this is a problem that will require professional help.

Open Door Warning Light
The open door light turns on when one of the car's side doors or the trunk is not latched. Check that all doors are closed completely, and the light should turn off.

Coolant Level Warning
The coolant level light will appear when the car's coolant is too low. When coolant gets too low, there is a likelihood that the engine will overheat, and there could be permanent damage done. Seek professional help immediately.
