Toyota has a tradition of paying it forward to those who have sacrificed the most to serve our country. Along with its hire a hero initiative, the company also provides cars to veterans through the Wounded Warrior Project. For the past three years, Toyota and the NY Auto Show have presented a new ride to deserving ex-military personnel and this year Alfredo De Los Santos earned the honor.

Distracted driving is a big concern in the auto industry and Toyota stands out for its consistent efforts to develop technologies that keep drivers safe. Along with current sensor- and camera-based safety technologies available on its 2015 lineup, the automaker recently patented a feature that monitors drivers’ eyes and one day it could be used to ensure that drivers are paying attention to the road.

Recently at TED 2015, Toyota held i-ROAD test drives and several journalists, tech gurus and celebrities took part, including Jason Winston George from "Grey's Anatomy” and New Yorker writer Richard Socarides. The compact, tri-wheeled i-ROAD looks like tons of fun and TED test drive participants confirmed that this is indeed the case.
