October is here and that means it’s time for the return of Boo at the Zoo! This month-long event held at Decatur’s very own Scovill Zoo brings a dose of Halloween fun to the park, entertaining guests of all ages. If you’re searching for something fun to do with your family this month, Boo at the Zoo is where to be. It’s running now until Oct. 30, 2016, so be sure to check it out before it’s too late!

If you have a furry, four-legged friend and you live in the Decatur area, we invite you to take part in the Fido Scurry 5K or 1-mile run/walk on Saturday, Sept. 24, 2016 at Fairview Park. This special event benefits Decatur Park District’s Fido Fields Dog Parks and the Decatur & Macon County Animal Shelter Foundation.

Take a break from an ordinary night out and experience something extraordinary in Decatur instead. On Saturday, August 27, from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., head on down to the Scovill Zoo for the 2016 Zoo-rific Evening in Key West.

From August 4-6, the 30th annual Decatur Celebration will return to our city and we are very excited about this fun-filled event!

Blues lovers, here’s a show you won’t soon forget. On Thursday, June 23, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., a popular blues band will take center stage at Fletcher Park in Mt. Zion to get the crowd moving to their award-winning beats. Known as Tombstone Bullet, the band is well-known for its ability to deliver an awe-inspiring blues experience.

One million. That’s how many miles Louisiana resident Victor Sheppard put on his Toyota Tundra since purchasing the truck new in 2007. Sheppard took care of his vehicle with routine oil changes, timing belt replacements and other manufacturer-recommended regularly scheduled services, and he logged 117 dearlership service visits over that nine year period.

Decatur's pre-Memorial Day parade and ceremony on Saturday, May 21, 2016, was a huge hit. Honoring those who fought for our freedoms, this meaningful event was an excellent way for the community to pay tribute and have some fun.
