A decade’s old tradition, the Lights of Christmas Parade will once again kick off the holiday season with a luminous celebration featuring decorative floats, bands, local businesses, lots of twinkling lights all around and, of course, an appearance from Jolly Old Saint Nicolas himself!

Spine-tingling fun is just around the tombstone! Several local Halloween events are coming to Decatur, Illinois, proving that ghouls just want to have fun. Whether you have kids or want to get out and have some fun yourself, one of these events will hit the mark!

Men get out your lederhosens and women find your dirndls! The Brew Ha Ha is back this month in Decatur, offering a heady mix of craft beer tasting, genuine German food, live music and other entertainment!

The Decatur Celebration’s event organizers have some additional festivities coming up that’ll keep the summer fun rolling. Free Friday-night concerts are being held at Central Park on June 26, July 10 and July 31, and at each there will be games and festival food!

Junior Welfare Association is holding its annual Dash to the Bash 5K/10K this month! Get your tennis shoes ready and walk, jog or run for charity on May 23, 2015. All proceeds from the event benefit the Junior Welfare Association’s Shoe Fund and Athletic Fund, which provide shoes, socks and athletic garments for underprivileged children in Macon County.

This month, Decatur has another great event in store for locals. Corks & Forks 2015 is just around the corner and it’s a fabulous affair for foodies and wine lovers. Enjoy delicious food samples from some of the city’s best restaurants and fine wines from all over the world at this must-attend event!
