Come Together Let’s Walk is a premier event supporting the fight against Ovarian, Breast and Cervical cancer. Slated to be held on Saturday, June 24, 2017, the seventh edition of this special walk aims to empower people and help aid the fight against these deadly diseases. We encourage the people of Decatur to come out and support this beneficial cause.

Scovill Zoo will be hosting its 50th Anniversary Critter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 15, 2017. Perfect for the little ones, this family friendly event will feature a wide range of fun activities for all to enjoy. And the best part is admission is absolutely free!

Get a taste of Decatur by participating in one of the downtown area’s food tours. Featuring six premier eateries, you’ll have the chance to sample award-winning cuisine from different cultures and learn interesting facts about the city throughout the 3-hour tour.

The official Macon County Relay for Life event isn’t scheduled to take place until July 21-22, 2017, but preparations are already underway. In support of the upcoming walk, a special kick-off event will be happening on Tuesday, Feb. 21: Cubs vs. Cards Trivia Night.

This month-long event held at Decatur’s very own Scovill Zoo brings a dose of Halloween fun to the park, entertaining guests of all ages. If you have a furry, four-legged friend and you live in the Decatur area, we invite you to take part in the Fido Scurry 5K or 1-mile run/walk on Saturday, Sept. 24, 2016 at Fairview Park. This special event benefits Decatur Park District’s Fido Fields Dog Parks and the Decatur & Macon County Animal Shelter Foundation.
